FROM THE COMMAND DECK
14 MARCH 2024
Well, it’s been a crazy year so far. I’ve been super busy with all things 6083. It’s difficult sometimes, working solo. It certainly slows down my output. Still, I’ve been working hard to get the next mission adventure out the door. After that, I’ll turn my focus to the expansion, THE GALACTIC CODEX. My local playgroups have been testing out the new options going into the game. I’m really excited for both these things to get into everyone’s hands. I’m also considering a Kickstarter for the CODEX, so I’m looking into that.
I’m also going to be creating content on You Tube again soon, so look for that. For the newsletter subscribers, I’ll be releasing maps, and some of the new content going into the expansion. This will make these things usable at your own game tables. If you playtest some of these items and provide useful feedback, I’ll make sure you get mentioned in the special thanks for the upcoming CODEX.
Well, I gotta get back to work!

02 NOVEMBER 2023
The GM’s Manual and the Players Manual just got some really important updates! The Drakkens’ wing armor has been reduced down to a maximum AR 2. This was a result of players requesting that Drakkens get “nerfed” a bit. After careful consideration, I agreed to do just that! A Drakken could easily have an AR value of 38 if they were using their wings as shields. While an experienced GM can counter this, it gives the Drakkens a HUGE statistical advantage in any combat where their opponents don’t specifically aim for their head or legs. For those of you that liked that tanky quality, no worries: they will have the option to armor up their wings in the future. Be on the lookout for this as an option and an augment in the upcoming Galactic Codex.
The way opposed encounters are handled has changed significantly. This is probably the most radical change 6083 has experienced in the last 30 years. Basically, the opposed system worked fine, but at higher stat levels, it didn’t really do a great job of respecting character’s investments in their abilities and skills. The new system is very similar to how dogfights in starship combat are resolved. It’s also simpler, requires less math and is more dynamic and exciting. Basically, now the GM and player will roll-off against one another until one character is the victor. This is also more in keeping with the way 6083 uses stats comparatively. It’s just a better and simpler system. It’s more fun too (in my opinion). So make sure you download the new pdfs so you can get these new features integrated into your games! If you have purchased the deluxe pdfs over at DTRPG, they’ll be updated as well. If you purchased physical editions, contact us via the CONTACT US tab here on site. Send us an email with proof of purchase (even a pic of you with your physical copies will do), and we’ll get you a shiny new deluxe pdf version.
We are almost ready to publish the new mission adventure, THE SIGNAL, very soon. Keep a lookout for it! If you are on our mailing list, you might get a nice surprise when it launches!
Everyone have a greart day! -Jason
23 SEPTEMBER 2023
I’m getting closer to releasing, “THE SIGNAL,” mission adventure, so hopefully that will be available in the next few weeks. Also, I have been updating the manuals and ensuring they are as polished as possible. It’s frustrating sometimes: I’ll post an update, but then find another error. I hate posting constant updates, but at the same time, it’s important to me that players get the best out of 6083. I’ll be sending out the newsletter at the end of this month with some surprises for those of you who have subscribed.
01 JULY 2023
It’s been awhile! I’ve been working hard on getting the next mission published, but I’ve also had to shift focus to making sure the existing content is polished and available. I’ve also spent time converting 6083’s various character sheets and supplements into proper pdf files. It’s been exhausting, but worth it! I can’t wait to see the current round of reprints! The game books are in fine shape, and will be available to purchase again soon!
28 NOVEMBER 2022
The physical versions of the game manuals are finally available! What a journey: almost 40 years in development, and the last two years spent building the layouts for each book. The goal was to have the game available on POD this holiday season, and that has been accomplished. The next step is getting the hardback versions available for POD, and that is happening very soon, After that, I need to finish the other free adventure, “THE SIGNAL,” and then work can begin on some other projects. The work continues. However, getting these manuals into print is a HUGE milestone for me , and I’m very proud and excited to have them out in the world in this format. Now I have two interviews and an online session to prep for: lots of big things are coming: It’s an exciting time for 6083!
22 NOVEMBER 2022
I just unboxed the softcover proofs for all of the manuals, and they look amazing! I’ve already submitted the request to make the book listings available to the public, so they should be live soon! This has been a two year journey that is nearly complete: I can’t wait for players to get their hands on these books!
26 OCTOBER 2022
Just finished submitting all three manuals to the printer. I spent nearly all month editing and adjusting: making sure the books are in the best possible shape before physical publication has been a tedious and intensive. This is always nerve wracking, because we don’t get to see if everything looks good until the proofs are in our hands. I’m still confident we are on track for a November release though. The PDF versions got some love too! The file sizes are also more manageable now. I’m still working on getting the 6083 You Tube channel up to speed, and new videos will be coming soon!
22 SEPTEMBER 2022
Well, proofs of the printed versions of the Player’s Manual have been ordered! It’s going to be a very long wait for these books to show up! I’m really excited: after two years of hard work, I’m finally going to see this game in print. True, it’s been published online for almost a year now, but having printed versions is a whole other thing! This is the culmination of a lifelong dream, and something I never thought I could make a reality. But it’s really happening! Now I just need to finish up editing the Alliance Market. The GM’s Manual is ready to go, so once I confirm the Player’s Manual is good to go, I’ll be sending the other two books out to the printer too!
19 SEPTEMBER 2022
Just got done editing the Player’s Manual, and it’s looking really polished now! Of course, you can see for yourself, because the PDF file is uploaded now. It was really cool to see the overview from Talking About Games: I didn’t expect this one so soon. We had talked about a review, but I thought he wouldn’t be able to get to it so soon! He did a great job though, and I was super excited to see it: definitely go give it a watch and a like! I’ve had my head down, working diligently on getting the books into print as soon as possible. I can’t believe that 6083 has been available publicly now for almost a year. In two days, it will be two years since I decided to publish them, and the goal is to have them ready before Christmas. I’ve had to put some of the other 6083 projects on hold because of this, but I really feel strongly about getting them into print before Christmas. There’s over 1400 of you out there who’ve downloaded the 6083 system, and over 3000 people who have downloaded some part of it. That’s crazy exciting to me! If you are looking forward to seeing more from 6083, please drop me an email, or hit me up on the Discord. The Discord is pretty quiet right now, but I’d really like to see the 6083 community flourish. I’ll be posting an OGL for 6083 very soon too: I’d love to see independent 6083 content, and I want to help out small creators with that. In any case, I just hope everyone is having a great day!
-Jason
31 JULY 2022
Well, it’s been a busy month, but I haven’t gotten to work on the game much: family matters came first. I’ll talk a bit more about the most recent updates and all other things 6083. Just need to collect my thoughts. Give a me a day or two.
01 JULY 2022
It’s been a super busy month. I have been creating art almost nonstop: both for the mission, THE SIGNAL, as well as for the GM’s Manual. I really wanted to get the signal out to everyone, but I’ve had to shift priority to getting the layout for the printed manuals completed. So I have been making art for the GM’s manual, and that has been the main focus. As of now, I’ve got 28 pieces left to finish for that manual, and I’ll probably go back and either retouch or completely redo some of those illustrations: it’s really important to me to get the best version of the game out as I can, and when the printed manuals are ready, I don’t want to be regretting any of my artistic choices.
That being said, I’m really excited: we’re getting close! I’m on track for a December release for all three manuals. They’ll be POD through DTRPG, but we’ll all finally be able to get our hands on a full color physical copy of the game!
July is shaping up to be very busy: I’m prepping some games for online play. One in particular is really exciting: I’m going to be running a game for the Cantrips and Coffee crew. It will be available on their podcast. I’m also gearing up to make content for 6083’s You Tube channel. Oh yeah, and I’m getting some more press for the game as well! Speaking of, the review of 6083 from Steven Wolfe is still slowly up ticking: It seems like a few people per week are checking it out. Hopefully that means more players are joining the fun!
I’m really disappointed I couldn’t get THE SIGNAL ready to publish last month, but I’m one person, and sometimes priorities really do have to shift. We’ll get there, I promise. The mission is written, but I’m still illustrating it and creating maps and handouts. This takes time, at least if it’s done the way I envision it.
I hope this July finds everyone healthy and happy1 If this is your first time here: WELCOME! I’ll try to post a little bit more! Have a great day!

23 MAY 2022
I had to pause work on the mission adventure in order to bring important quality of life updates to the manuals. All manuals now feature an INDEX, BOOKMARKS and WORKING HYPERLINKS. I honestly didn’t realize how simple it would be to implement these items, but as soon as I realized it, I knew it needed to happen ASAP! It actually took several days to integrate everything, but this adds even more polish to the system, and that’s always good. I also found a few more errors, which I corrected. I wonder how many are lurking around still: I really want to eliminate all errata if possible. Well, back to work for me! Have a great day Guardians!
16 MAY 2022
I just finished editing the Player’s Manual: it’s VERY polished now. There will likely be a few more tiny layout adjustments prior to going to print, but it’s looking really clean now. I spent the last week hunting down extra spaces, adjusting grammar and phrasing, and adding clarifications where needed. It’s tedious work, but I want to bring the best possible version to print. I also fixed an issue with the mobile version of the site: the menu works properly now. Apologies to anyone who was met with a blank screen upon clicking the menu icon on mobile!
Now I’ve got to get back into the studio and get “the Signal” finished! Have a great day!
06 MAY 2022
It’s been a hectic week! But a good one. All of the pdfs have been updated and are available now. But the biggest news was the review that came out from Mr. Steven Wolfe on You Tube. I contacted him awhile back to see if he’d be interested in looking at 6083. Well he DID, and he did a PHENOMENAL job. There were no expectations for him to give a positive rating: I just wanted a fair and unbiased analysis. I was a little nervous, but he was genuinely excited about 6083. I was SO happy with his breakdown of the game. Without telling him, he picked up on so much of what 6083 is actually about. I really appreciate his insights, and he’s entertaining as well! Again, a heartfelt thankyou to Steven!
I’ll be creating the 6083 YOU TUBE channel very soon. I’ll announce it here when that happens. Additionally, my main playgroup that I test new missions with will be recording 6083 sessions to go onto you tube: I’ll be learning Foundry VTT so we can present the best showcase of the game!
There’s still so much to do, but I’m getting it done. There likely won’t be much action on adding art for the rest of the Alliance Market and the GM’s Manual this month. I really want to get the next starter mission, “THE SIGNAL,” out and published.
Well, time to get back at it! Have a great day!
-Jason
23 APRIL 2022
What a month! I’m actually getting to a point where the list of needed illustrations is really starting to dwindle. That being said, I’m in the studio producing both digital and acrylic artwork daily. I’m also cleaning up older work and outright replacing some of the illustrations that have better versions now.
Looks like I may be manufacturing the dice for 6083 soon! I’m actually excited about this, but if demand gets too high, I’ll probably need to find a new dice partner. I’m sad to lose Juli at FuzzyFins, but her choice to step back was completely understandable. My hope is that she continues to work at her craft, because she is a truly talented dice-smith! Best wishes to Juli: she remains a friend and ally to 6083, and all of her hard work has been most appreciated!
I’ve been focusing on art for the manuals, but I’m going to switch gears soon and get the second mission, “The Signal,” published in May. I’m also going to try very hard to get the GM screen available on DTRPG: the tables are finished, but I want to do some unique art for the screen, and that’s taking time too!
I’m going to try hard to post more often here. Oh, and for one of our supporters, expect to see your name in the Special Thanks in the Player’s manual when the next updates go live!
I’m finally getting into the You Tube scene: I’ll be launching the channel soon, and when that happens, I’ll share the link! Expect tips, advice, game explanations, lore, news, and live plays!
Finally, be on the lookout for the review from MrStvenWolfe on YouTube: I’ll be sure to post that link when the video goes live.
09 APRIL 2022
I’ve been really busy this month: prepping the updates and painting a lot of illustrations for the Alliance Market. In the last file update, there are over 30 new illustrations, including some larger pieces depicting high tech armor. I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, at least for THAT manual.
I also added in the Hit Rank Comparison Matrix, a quick reference matrix for HR comparisons during combat encounters. This was a part of the original game, and I initially left it out because the combat system is pretty easy already. However, I just recently ran a very large combat engagement, and I wish I had it: it got me thinking that if I, a 6083 veteran was missing it, I should probably include it. It really does help- it basically eliminates most of the math and makes comparing combatant’s Hit Ranks a breeze. This is another reminder for me that I need to stop trying to change things that aren’t broken lol. Well, the matrix is BACK in the GM’s Manual as well as the site- it’s under the SUPPLEMENTS menu item on the main page, and it’s downloadable!
Now I need to continue to focus upon the illustrations, but I’m going to try to get that second free mission out and published too! Lots to do, thank you for your patience! Have a great day!
07 MAR 2022
Well, the interview with Cantrips and Coffee posted, so that’s exciting! I’ve also talked with our DICE manufacturer, Fuzzy Fins (formerly Aldani) Dice, and there will be a 3D6 only listing soon. That means for those of you who didn’t want a full polyhedral set, that you can get the custom set of 3D6 combat dice only.
It’s been busy lately, still working on those pre-made character sheets! I’ve also been more active in my pursuit of game reviewers: I’ve got one review coming for sure, on you tube, but I’ll wait until they notify me to post the details. I’ll be in the studio all week this week, working on different art projects for the game and other things too! Have a great week everyone!
01 MAR 2022
WOW, February was a rough month. I’m finally getting back on track though, and there’s a LOT coming soon. New versions of the PDF manuals have been uploaded to the site, and I’ll be uploading the same files on DTRPG tonight or tomorrow. I really wanted to have the second free mission, ‘THE SIGNAL,” out and published, but that is just not ready yet. Real life intruded, and I also had some pretty important adjustments to make to the rulebooks. There’s still a ton of typos in the manuals, and I needed to make some rules clarifications and changes too. Mainly balance issues that have been brought to light now that more new players are playing 6083. It’s amazing how many thing veteran players just don’t consider, myself included.
One thing I’m really excited about are the Quick-Start Rules. This streamlined rule set is in the back of the GM’s manual and is much friendlier to new GMs. I’ve had some anxiety for a very long time about the approachability of 6083. There’s a ton of rules, and I have always been afraid of alienating new players before they even get started. The last thing I want is for 6083 to be a useless part of a TTRPG collection: I want people to actually play and enjoy this game. This Quick-Start rule set solves this, and provides a much quicker and more streamlined entry into the game.
ALDANI DICE has launched the official set of 6083 dice, and MAN are they pretty! They are a little pricey, but ALDANI is a custom dice boutique, so this was to be expected. However, I really love ALDANI, and I really believe in supporting them as a small business. SO if you love dice, and you want a beautiful custom set of 6083 dice, go check them out. I’ll be putting up links to their store very soon!
Apologies for being quiet for so long, but this is mostly a one -person endeavor: if I get roadblocks form real life, I have to deal with those things first. Just know that 6083 is near and dear to me, and I will always be supporting the game, improving it, and creating new content.
Thank you for your patience! And Hey, if you actually read these, let me know via the contact us, or over on Instagram. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the game!

31 JAN 2022
This was a rough month for me. I realized I had made a bunch of mistakes that didn’t get corrected prior to publication. Normally this is only annoying, but in this case the mistakes were potentially game breaking. There were some issues with armor pricing in the Alliance market that threw off game progression and balance, as well as errors with ALL of the piloting and driving skills: they were accidentally set too high, and would throw off the balance of skill checks for those related skills. It’s ALL been fixed, but won’t get updated until I have a few more illustrations to put into the books. There’s also a lot of clarification on vehicle combat within the GM’s Manual, as well as an additional page on dogfights, which is actually pretty important in the game. don’t like making big changes to the game when it’s already out there, but in this case, the changes are necessary. I’ll probably take down the enemy ranks a little in the LOST PATROL mission: it occurred to me that these starter enemies might be a little too tough for rank one characters. Not insurmountable, but fights against them are taking longer than planned. Better to shorten up the fights a bit: I don’t want initial encounters to be a tedious back-and-forth.
This month will see the launch of the second mission, and more corrections, clarifications and illustrations. The work continues. I hope everyone out there is having fun. I’d love to hear feedback: hit us up in the “contact us” tab on the main menu.
Everyone out there: have a great day!
18 JAN 2022
Well, the files are updated, Cantrips and coffee is publishing the 6083 first look on Monday, and I’m in the studio getting art done for the game. It’s still pretty quiet though. 238 people have downloaded THE LOST PATROL, so I feel like some people are actually playing the game, but I have heard zero feedback, outside of a handful of positive ratings on DTRPG. This is normal, it’ll be a while before people actually start talking: I know this, but I get impatient LOL. I have to remind myself that the game has only been out for a little over a month now, and it is one in a vast sea of TTRPG products. ALDANI is getting ready to cast the first set of 6083 dice soon, so that will be exciting. And I’m scheduled to do an interview in February, also with Cantrips and Coffee. I am also starting a YouTube channel for the game, one where we’ll post tips and live plays. And that means I need to find a small group to do a live play with. Busy busy busy! Hope all is good with everybody!
Have a great day, wherever you are, whoever you are!
12 JAN 2022
I am still on track to release file updates for the manuals AND the LOST PATROL on the 15th. Lots of little corrections and clarifications. There are a few additions as well: little things that slipped through the cracks earlier. Like the Voidstalker’s blade being a weapon that can be recalled to their hand, or the Nacatey’s ability to operate even better in Zero-G environments. You’ll also be getting a few new illustrations, so definitely update those files!
It feels like very slow going at times: there’s still so much to do to get the manuals ready for a physical release. BUT every day, I get a little closer. We’re still working out where to publish at, but I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to get a POD version from DTRPG when we launch. OH, and there WILL be a GM screen available too!
05 JAN 2022
It appears that there are a few hundred of you out there actually playing the game: That is AWESOME. I’ve gotten some great feedback about THE LOST PATROL, and it’s inspiring me to get THE SIGNAL finished! I can’t wait to start sharing some of 6083’s stories with the community. Even though my playgroups have experienced these storylines, it is exciting to be able to share them with a new audience! The next mission, THE SIGNAL, is the first steps into that storyline.
In other news, I’ve been refining the layouts of the books, and making corrections to all of the versions. Players can expect an updated version of everything by month’s end. That means that the PDF files will get updated here on the site as well as on Drive Thru RPG. If you’ve downloaded from Drive Thru RPG, you can expect an email from me notifying you.
Speaking of Drive Thru RPG, if you have downloaded from there, please go rate the game, and give a review if you are able to. This really helps out the game. At this point I have several goals, but one of the biggest goals for 2022 is to grow our community: this helps.
Thank you for your support!
01JAN2022
Well, the new year is upon us! The game has been live for about three weeks now, and it looks like we are doing pretty well so far. It will be interesting to see the download numbers for, The Lost Patrol. I think these download numbers will give me a more accurate account of those actually playing the game.
I’m still dedicated to getting the 2nd free mission out before the end of January, and I feel like on this one I’ll be able to put a bit more time into it. The second mission, The Signal, is very combat and vehicle focused, so there will be a bit of extra explanation and examples to assist new 6083 GMs. Thankfully, the mission itself is a lot more straightforward. And because it is also set in the same sector as the first adventure, this mission will build upon the first one-this makes it a bit easier to build.
So I’ll be working on that, plus continuing the seemingly endless task of editing, illustrating and tweaking the layouts of the upcoming physical books. I’ll also be working on a community program for those that are interested in learning more about 6083.
Finally, I am starting to approach game reviewers in the TTRPG community. This has actually been a challenge. Most reviewers seem to be interested in either the big titles or OSR, and 6083 is neither. And I’m sure they get bombarded by requests for reviews: there’s a LOT of new TTRPGs out now! I’m really grateful to the Cantrips and Coffee Podcast team for their interest: I appreciate them reaching out to me and giving the game some exposure. Their podcast airs soon: I’m excited!
It will be really interesting to see how this year goes. I wonder how 6083 will be doing this time next year? Well, Happy New Year for now!
30 DEC 2021
I finally was able to get the first starter mission published! The Lost Patrol is available here on the official site, and it will also be available on Drive Thru RPG in a few days. I’m going to take a few days off to celebrate, but then it’s back to working on the NEXT mission, “The Signal.” I’ve learned a LOT from publishing this adventure. I think I can plan to have a short mission completed in a month, and it will probably take about 2-3 months to build a more complicated campaign style mission. Lessons learned, but the biggest bottleneck is creating illustrations. I really wanted to do more illustrations for the Lost Patrol, but I cut about 15 planned images to ensure I got the mission published before the year’s end. Well, if you played it, I’d love to know what you thought! Drop a comment! Also, for those of you who picked up the game from Drive Thru RPG, please leave a rating and comment: it really helps the game’s visibility. Happy New Year everybody!
20 DEC 2021
Well, I loathed to do it, but I had to push back the launch of the starter mission, “the Lost Patrol.” I hate letting people down, but the mission is missing some important handouts, and it wouldn’t feel right to release the mission without all of it’s components. I have been working hard the last few weeks getting different things ready to release: it’s been exhausting. Plus, I had a family member in the ICU, and was sick for four days. Not excuses, these are just some facts lol. My career in the Army taught me that while excuses are rarely acceptable, it’s OK to have a solid reason behind a missed deadline or goal.
It’s been quiet here, although I did receive an email from a player who was curious about preorders for the physical manuals. He also asked a good question about our donate button. No, the donations don’t go towards preorders, but I am thinking about adding some incentives for those that donate. In the future, we might have a “join the community” button instead-something that would give players access to exclusive content. I do need to look into the best way to do this to give our community good incentives for being generous.
I know Cantrips and Coffee is either still recording their 6083 sessions or maybe has already wrapped up: I’m very excited to hear their impressions. Go check out their podcast though- it’s really good. I’m holding off on approaching other reviewers until they finish up their podcast: I want them to have the first exclusive on 6083.
Well X-mas and Yule are approaching, and I’m busy as ever. I hope everyone out there who is trying out 6083 is having a good time. We’d love to hear about your experiences! For now, have a great day!
13 DEC 2021
6083 has been awarded free title of the week from Drive Thru RPG this week! I’m super excited about that! I’ve been working hard on getting the first free mission completed and published. This is taking longer than expected, plus we’ve had some real world setbacks. I have family in the hospital, and I myself was sick for four days. In any case, I’m back at it, and hoping to have it out by the 20th.
This will also coincide with a file update with the new pictures from Aldani Dice. Speaking of Aldani, they’ve had a rough week: they were hit by a tornado and are currently without power. My understanding is that they are ok, but they have been busy recovering as well as assisting with search and rescue ops. Best wishes go out to them: I hope they get their lives back to normal as soon as possible.
I’ve got a pretty big announcement regarding download numbers on Drive Thru RPG: more on that when the game passes a specific numerical benchmark. It’s exciting though!
For all of you who have downloaded the game: THANK YOU! I hope you are enjoying it. The free mission is coming soon, and it should really help out new GM’s and players learn the ropes better.
Everyone have a great day!
06 DEC 2021
The game has been live for six days now! I can confirm through stat tracking that the game has now reached a larger audience then the whole collective of original 6083 players. I also just got confirmation that the three manuals have been certified by Drive Thru RPG, and are now available there as well. This extends the game’s reach significantly, and I am hopeful that people will leave some reviews. Hopefully positive reviews lol. Getting onto Drive Thru RPG is a pretty big deal for me. It wasn’t difficult to get certified because the three manuals were already formatted correctly anyhow. BUT, this marketplace is a major hub for TTRPG players and for whatever reason, getting accepted onto the site makes it feel like it’s even more legitimate. It’s difficult to explain, but seeing the 6083 title next to big name publishers just makes me feel GOOD.
I’ve been working on getting that starter adventure finished up, as well as doing additional proofreading: I’m still finding mistakes, and it’s bugging me like crazy! I’ll need to do a file update for all the manuals before Christmas to ensure as many of these little errors as possible get corrected.
Aldani Dice just shipped out the custom dice set that will be featured in the manuals too! I can't wait to get these dice photographed and into the books! The work continues!
03 DEC 2021
Well, the game has been live for three days, and it’s been crazy! The launch went better than I could’ve hoped, thanks to my friends around the world! There’s still SO much to do, and that won’t likely ever really change: the nature of the beast I suppose. I hope that people are playing the game and enjoying it, but I’m acutely aware that I need to get the starter missions finished: these are a huge part of the new player experience. For the next week, this is going to be my main focus: I’d really like to have the first mission ready by the 15th, or much sooner, if possible. For all of you who have decided to take a look and download the game: THANK YOU! My greatest desire is that you and your friends have a wonderful time with 6083! I’d really like to have a forum where players can share those experiences. I guess I’ll add that to the to-do list.
01 DEC 2021
Here it is. The day I’ve been excited for and simultaneously dreading. After 38 years of playing our TTRPG system, It’s finally getting released into the wild. I could keep adjusting it forever, but at this point, it just needs to launch. There’s still mistakes to correct, art to add, and content that needs to be written, but it’s actually in a pretty good place to fly on it’s own. And I need to get it out there, not because of playtesting : that’s a non issue, the game has been technically in a continuous playtest for three decades. It’s just TIME to launch it.
I’m excited, because for the first time outside of the 6083 community, it’s going to be available to EVERYBODY. That means for the first time in 38 years that it will gain a new audience. Basically, that the world will see the universe that’s been created. From the deep lore, to all the nuances of the system, it will all be there for players to enjoy: and I can’t wait to see the amazing adventures that new playgroups have, as well as the new worlds that all new game masters will create.
I dread the release as well, because this is an entirely NEW game system. It doesn’t really matter how well the rules work with GM’s who are used to running the game. How will brand new players react to the system? Will they enjoy it? Will new GM’s understand it? Will it succeed, or will it quietly lumber on?
In the end, I suppose it doesn’t matter: I designed this public release version for longtime fans of the game. I also created it, because after 38 years of archived LORE, it seemed like a shame not to commit it to a more enduring format.
So whether players love it, or not, it’s here. For all of my players: YES, it’s actually available at long last. And it’s FREE. So, if you are one of the players who already knows the system, get running those campaigns already! And if you’re new to 6083, try it out: it may surprise you. Either way, I’m looking forward to whatever happens next.
Welcome to the 6083 universe: we’re happy to have you!
