-6083 and it’s universe are the creation of Jason Oberman (that’s me). It was born out of the desire for a military sci-fi ttrpg experience. I am also a retired career soldier: over the years, more and more from my military journey has leaked into the game’s DNA. The result is a ttrpg experience with a lot of influence from real-life military culture and experiences. I’m also a fine artist, and while most of the illustrations are done by me, there’s also a lot of my art featured in the game. If you’d like to see the art, just switch over to the “FINE ART” tab in the main menu.

- 6083 is an original TTRPG with a unique ruleset. It is NOT based upon any current or past game systems. It has some mild rule complexity (crunch), but aims to provide a role playing experience that is cinematic with detailed and fast paced combat encounters.

-The 6083 game has a development history that spans 38 years. It has been extensively play tested. The ruleset that exists is a culmination of thousands of hours of gameplay and the participation of around a hundred players from all over the world.

-The system will continue to be supported: We will NOT produce updated editions of the ruleset that make past versions obsolete. The design ethic for our game is that any future content will add to the system: we will never take away rules or content. We WILL continue to update it and make improvements as necessary though!

-The CORE rules will always remain FREE to download. While the upcoming printed versions of the manual will need to be purchased, the PDF versions will never be monetized. This also applies to the starter missions.

-The 6083 game system introduces many unique game mechanics: aspiring designers are free to use all or parts of the ruleset to improve their own systems. Just please credit 6083 somewhere: that’d be nice!

-6083 is NOT an OSR game. Despite being created in that time period, it has it’s own identity and design. Like OSR, it can be lethal for the characters though, and in order to survive, players will need to strategically upgrade their characters and plan their actions carefully.

-The system is divided into three manuals. This is a design choice that evolved through extensive play. Players will need the Player’s manual, Game Masters will require the GM’s Manual and EVERYBODY will end up passing around the Alliance Market. This system relies heavily upon unique gear to customize each player’s gameplay experience. Character equipment choices are a key part of the journey!
